Community Wildfire Protection Plan
A Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) was completed in 2007 by representatives of the Glen Haven Association, Retreat Landowners Association and the Glen Haven Area Volunteer Fire Department. Working with the Colorado State Forest Service, the U.S. Forest Service, Larimer County, and Rocky Mountain National Park, this group of locals created the CWPP under the auspices of the 2003 Healthy Forests Act. At the time, the final CWPP freed up $10,000 in Community Assistance Funding which the GHAVFD applied for in 2006. The money was used to work on the priority "Action Items" identified in the CWPP.
