The GHAVFD has just received their first bid proposal, on the fire house project, from Roche Construction, Inc. The initial estimate of $400,000 was on target, as the recent cost estimate was just over this amount.
To date, we have received $151,228 in cash and pledges and have spent $19,000 in architectural and engineering expenses. We need to double the income amount before we are able to begin construction.
If you have already contributed, we would like to thank you very much. Your support has provided a solid foundation to build upon. The department would be extremely grateful if you would consider an additional donation as your means allow.

An additional way to support this project is through the purchase of 2012 Rotary Club of Estes Park Duck Race adoption tickets. The GHAVFD board of directors has pledged the proceeds from this year’s race to go directly to the Fire House Project. Each ticket costs $20 and $19 of that amount is returned to us. Prizes this year include laptop and desktop computers, Apple iPads, a DVR, an HD TV, a digital camera and hundreds of other items. We are also planning a Glen Haven Community Garage Sale on Friday, June 15th and Saturday, June 16th at the Glen Haven Town Hall. Take this opportunity to unclutter your home, cabin or garage. We will gladly accept new or gently used clothing, small appliances, decorative and household goods, toys, books, furniture, etc. etc. Please make sure that items are in good working condition.
