Our Long Range Planning Goals

Highest Priority - Vehicle Replacement.
The Rescue - fullfilled! Estes Park has donated their older ambulance to the GHAVFD. This vehicle is a huge improvement over our old rescue (which we have already donated to the Storm Mountain First Response team). The Tender - This older, unreliable water transport vehicle is slated for replacement.

Highest Priority - Build a new fire house
This is the Board's primary focus. We are committed to making this happen in the near future. We are currently investigating the possibility of erecting a new fire station here in downtown Glen Haven that will meet our needs for meeting, administration, training, and vehicle and equipment storage. No, we do not want the ''Taj Mahal"; but we do hope to provide the community with a facility that will reflect your input and pride in the fire department; AND meet our needs.

High Priority - Provide training to our firefighters
Training is an on going process. New members to the department require investment in their training; while established members need recertification and updated training.

(Fullfilled!) - High Priority - Provide adequate gear to our firefighters
Currently, the majority of our members' gear is sadly outdated and not up to code. We have historically relied on the cast-offs of other departments. It is our desire to provide every firefighter with the gear necessary to ensure their protection and safety while in the line of duty. This can only be done by updating our sadly deficient equipment/gear. It is simply unacceptable to ask a firefighter to wear gear that is unsafe, doesn't fit, and has outlived its usefulness.
